PATIENTS DO NOT HAVE TO COST FOR A COVID TEST WHEN ACCESSING AND TREATMENT AT PUBLIC HEALTH FACILITIES

Before that, right at the beginning of May when the 4th wave of epidemic broke out, at Official Dispatch No. 615 on May 7, 2021 and Official Letter No. 628 on May 10, 2021 of the National Steering Committee for Epidemic Prevention and Control prescribed for For patients with a Health Insurance card when visiting for examination and treatment at a public health facility, if COVID-19 is suspected and a test is indicated, follow the instructions of the Vietnam Social Insurance at Official Letter No. 1126/BHXH dated April 29, 2021;
The remaining subjects and the co-payments of the health insurance card holders shall be spent from the funding for COVID-19 prevention and control assigned by competent authorities and according to the current state budget decentralization.
 
Thus, the patient does not have to pay any costs when being assigned to test for COVID-19.
 
The Ministry of Health proposed the Departments of Health of the provinces and centrally-run cities according to their functions and tasks to strengthen the inspection and examination of the implementation of the provisions of the law on prices for medical facilities. in the area, especially the compliance with regulations on the price of COVID-19 testing services of private medical facilities;
 
Strictly handle violations, if any, to avoid taking advantage of the epidemic to increase the price of general medical services and COVID-19 testing services of medical facilities in the area.
 
If necessary, report to the People's Committee of the province to direct the inspection, examination and handling of violations.
